  • Keep them Indoors – Leaving your cat outdoors can pose a threat to it because of the environment. Aside from eating things that are hazardous to its health, it can get run over by a car or even get in a fight with other animals that are feral.
  • Create a Safe and Clean Environment at Home – A clean environment can do wonders for your cat as this removes the chance of them suffering from diseases. A safe environment will help lessen their stress levels.
  • Immunizations – You should make sure that your cat gets its regular shots from the vet.
  • Desex – If you want to keep your cat healthy and safe, Desexing is highly advisable as it prevents them from roaming outdoors. Avoiding this can cause health problems in the long run.
  • Avoid Parasites – This can be tricky to determine on your own, you should consider a regular worming and treatment for fleas and ticks programme as recommended by your vet and always read packaging for correct dossage and becareful not to use a dog flea treatment as some Dog flea treatments contain insecticide permethrin which is highly toxic to cats .
  • Less Kennel Stay – Although it is less stressful to leave your cats at home when you go away, sometimes this can be a source of health problem. Keeping your cat in its own crate is much better as it reduces its exposure to dangerous environments.
  • Exercise – Cats need to exercise so make sure that your pet is properly motivated.
  • Diet – When feeding cats, see to it that their food contains all the nutrients they need. There are several cat foods that are organic and healthy so stick with them.
  • Remove Poisonous Items – Any toxic chemicals or objects should be removed or stored properly. This way, your cat won’t gain access to them when you’re not around.
  • Create a Safe Surrounding – A safe surrounding means that your home doesn’t have any unnecessary sharp objects lying around that your cat can pick up and eat. Make sure that your stove is turned off and that no electrical wirings are exposed that can attract your kitty’s curiosity.

These are just a few tips that you can follow to ensure that your feline friend will be safe and healthy all the time
