Description
The Maine Coon is a truly impressive creature, with males topping the scales at up to 15lb and females only slightly lighter at up to 11lb. Physically one of the largest breeds of domestic cat, they have long, fluffy coats, bushy tails and distinctive tufts in their ears. A hardy and rugged breed, Maine Coons can endure the coldest of temperatures, and love to be outside hunting and playing. Despite their long hair, their coats are actually water resistant so don't require a great deal of grooming - and a good job it is considering their fondness for water! A highly intelligent cat, the Maine Coon is willing and able to learn any tricks you teach him, and even some you don't.
