Description
A Rottweiler is an energetic breed and a real cuddle monster.
Raised well, properly bred and carefully socialized this dog can be a perfect companion. Sadly he has been portrayed too many times as an aggressive dog by the press and media. When in reality he is a gentle loyal and clownish dog. His coat is low maintenance but he will need a long walk every day. He will adore children but should never be left alone with them; kids can be unpredictable and handle the dog clumsily, which is unfair on any dog.
The Rottweiler is commonly also sold as a guard dog because of his size and strength which reinforces the view that he could be dangerous. He loves positive training, will not cope with harsh handling and also tends to chatter whatever mood takes him. The sound of him talking is one that an inexperienced person could mistake for growling.
An overall lovely dog that, when raised right, can be a loyal and trustworthy pet around kids, dogs, cats and other pets.
