Description
The Jack Russell terrier is a popular pet; he is full of character and easy to train with positive reinforcement. He usually has a lot of energy and a long life expectancy with some living into their late teens and even early twenties.
The JRT is unflinchingly loyal, can be suspicious of strangers and may even become yappy or threatening if not properly socialized from a young age. He will never leave his owners side and generally has good recall. Coat care is easy and he is rugged enough to deal with long hikes even in cold weather. He can live happily with other pets and children when introduced well and managed carefully.
The breed can vary in nature with some being highly strung and demanding whilst others are more laid back. All are amusing, interesting, intelligent and great fun.
