Murphy was adopted from Campbelltown pound a week ago. He is a gorgeous, friendly boy who gets along well with other dogs. He unfortunately just doesnt suit the family due to his size and having small, very young children. Murphy is a big pup at heart. He knows the basics such as sit and get on your bed, but needs further training.
He has shown over interest in food which is soley the reason he is being rehomed, Toddlers and a dog who may snatch food out of tiny hands is a cause for concern.
Murphys owner paid $339 to adopt him from the pound. He came chipped, vaccinated and desexed.
Upon collecting him, after desexing, she was faced with an additional $400 vet bill for a skin condition caused by a coat placed on him at the pound, an umbilical hernia ( requiring surgery) and extras such as worming, flea treatment and heartworm injection. None of this was disclosed to her prior to adopting.
An ideal home for Murphy would be a home with no small children. Dogs are fine he is residing with a cavalier. Someone who can give him daily exercise, provide him with training, has an enclosed yard and who can love him as much as his current owners do. This is a heartbreaking decision, but is in the best interest of the children and Murphy.
