ARE YOU A PET PARENT? CELEBRATE THIS MOTHER’S DAY WITH YOUR PET

Published on Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Pets Please

It's almost Mother's Day, and just because your child may be furry and walk on four paws doesn't mean you can't take part in the fun. After all, pet parents are some of the best, most loving, giving, and deserving mums around.

Here are some ideas on fun ways to celebrate Mother's Day together.

1.      Go for a nice walk and enjoy the outdoors together.  There is no better gift your dog can give you than the gift of love and health and your dog will love you for the extra time outdoors together. Try taking your dog to a dog park, your dog will enjoy playing with all the other different types of dogs and you may also enjoy making new friends with other dog owners. To find dog parks in your area visitwww.doggo.com.au.

2.     Take your dog to the beach. If it’s a nice day, your dog will love running along the soft sand and if it’s warm enough you can both go for a swim together. If you drive ensure you pack a towel for your dog or you will be spending the afternoon cleaning your car! To find dog friendly beaches in your area visitwww.doggo.com.au.

3.     Register for the RSPCA Million Paws Walk. Held on Sunday, 17 May across Australia, it’s a great day out for the whole family including your four-legged friend and you will be helping fight animal cruelty in Australia. You and your pet will be treated to entertainment, displays, stalls, giveaways and a host of other activities. Go towww.millionpawswalk.com.auand register before 15 May.

4.    Go to breakfast together! While the weather is nice take your dog to a café and enjoy a nice breakfast on the outdoor tables, sniff around for one that has an enticing menu and will welcome you and your dog. Most cafés that welcome your four-legged friend will have a water bowl out the front. Don’t forget to book if you are planning to go for Mother’s Day.

5.     Go for a weekend trip away. Fortunately, more and more destinations are willing to accommodate people holidaying with their pets.  So with just a little extra planning, you can enjoy taking your four-legged friend on your next trip away. We hope that you enjoy this special day with your loved ones including your furry friends!
