They can track footsteps using their scent sense, just one of their innovative ways of finding their owners. These spaniels are happy to play with children and other animals. Due to their extreme friendliness to people, they are neither watch nor guard dogs. They will bark when necessary but even strangers can easily win the trust of this breed. As people pleasers, it is easy to train them obedience and dog tricks using motivational style of teaching. Indoor activities and short walks are enough as exercise.
